You may also be able to complete a degree apprenticeship which will provide you with the necessary qualifications. To earn more as a biochemist, you can move into a specialised area, such as medical biochemistry or biochemical engineering. Alternatively, you could pursue a managerial role within a research laboratory, or become self employed or establish your own research-based biochemistry business."
