What does a Lifeguard earn?
On average, lifeguards earn around $31,340 annually in the US. Lifeguards are tasked with ensuring the safety of patrons in aquatic settings such as beaches and swimming pools. Knowledge of CPR and first aid are typically required and a lifeguard can specialise in areas such as water safety instructor, pool operator, and safety educator.
How to earn more as a Lifeguard
To become a lifeguard, you will need qualifications such as a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, or other equivalent relevant awards. Alternatively, you can gain an aquatics qualification through an apprenticeship. To progress further, you could choose to specialise in areas such as water safety education and develop your own skills even further. You could also go freelance or become the manager of a leisure centre.
